'm probably one of those rare freaks who still occasionally goes to the video (to rent DVDs, of course) but as I bring surprises like The International, I will continue to do so. There are films that occasionally pass under the radar, they think they'll be more of the same and then it turns out no, they are really good (also happens, of course, quite the opposite ... movies they wait too long and that you stick with a super-duper bump, but that is now the case). The International is one of those unexpected surprises ... not the ones that change your life, but if that makes you a good time but sometimes it almost like a punch to the stomach.
argument is not the most original (very corrupt bank, a very dedicated cop and a moral dilemma ... crossed the line separating legal from the illegal or not? Is the same law justice?) but at least does not beat around with half measures and the tone of paranoia and frenzy of the film is quite well done, thanks largely to the work of Naomi Watts and above all, Clive Owen. Owen is one of those guys who also happen to discover, in my case Croupier (film in which she plays a character with many similarities to the protagonist of this money in the Shade) and then you'll find in movies of all stripes, but in which it at least (almost) always stays well type. His characters always have a point of inner torture that Owen is able to embroider.
Anyway, I quite liked the film, that is. And after I see it drawn two conclusions: one, there is nothing to do, even if you upload the wrong, which usually comes back worse (sad reality) and two: do not mess never, never, never certain type of Italian ... is bad for health.
